The VUB International Relations office invites you to celebrate the 1st Latin America Day.
The event will take place on Thursday 11 October 2018 on the Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering campus.
The whole VUB community along with partners from other universities, embassies, consulates and development cooperation organizations are warmly invited to join.
From 12 to 4pm, a fair and cultural activities will take place in partnership with more than 20 institutions and organizations (embassies, Casa de América Latina, Instituto Cervantes, VUB departments, etc.). Anyone interested to know more about what the Latin American continent has to offer, with its different touristic, cultural, gastronomic and of course academic opportunities are more than welcome to come along and explore.
At 4pm, VUB Rector Prof. Dr. Caroline Pauwels will open the academic session, “Building bridges between Latin America and Europe through education and scientific cooperation”, together with some Ambassadors from Latin American countries. VUB academics, embassy representatives and organizations, will illustrate the debate with examples of cooperation and related discussions.
At 5.30pm, a tango demonstration will open the networking event, with Latin music and food for everyone to enjoy.
Please note that during that week the consortium of the Erasmus + Capacity Building project RIESAL will meet at the VUB and will actively participate in the event! (universities and university networks from Mexico, Uruguay, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Germany, Italy, Spain and Belgium). A more detailed programme will follow in due course.
